Changes to the Board



Willie Marais, 78, non-executive deputy chairman, has announced his retirement from the Omnia board with effect from Thursday, 15 February 2007, after a long and distinguished career at Omnia.

Willie was one of the founders of the Omnia Group in 1953 and assumed the position of managing director until 1966. He has held various positions in the Company over the years, serving as deputy chairman since March 1994 and was a member of the audit and remuneration committees.

Commenting on his departure, Marais said:
"Having helped Omnia grow from a fertilizer company into a diversified, specialist chemical services provider, I have completed a long and fulfilling journey with the Company. Although I'm retiring as a board member of Omnia, I have the highest level of confidence in its Board of Directors and management team, and I remain as excited as ever about the Company's ability to develop ground-breaking technologies. Omnia has achieved a great deal over the past 54 years, and the Company is in an excellent position to continue its trajectory of growth and innovation."

CHANGE OF STATUS OF DR. WILLIE MARAIS (JUNIOR):
Dr Willie Marais (junior), currently acting as an alternate director to Willie Marais senior, will be appointed as a non executive director of the Company with effect from 15 February 2007.
